LISCR Cup kicks off, wins for Black Star and FC Fassell recorded

The second edition of the LISCR Trust, Peace and Charity Cup kicked off on Thursday at the Antoinette with wins for Black Star FC and FC Fassell.
Black Star FC put behind them their recent disappointing run in Liberian football and came from two goals down to beat Green Pastures by three goals to two.
David Wah and Seh Johnson had put Green Pastures ahead in the 19th and 27th minutes, before Black Star dented them the blow midway through the second half.
Their star player Swengbue Kennedy pulled two goals for them on 62nd and 70th minutes, while Mekee Freeman got the other on 66th minute to sealed things up for the for them.
Earlier on newly promoted second division side FC Fassell progressed to the next round of the competition with a delightful 2-1 over Nimba FC.
The tournament will continue on Friday with two matches taking place.
Jasmine Rangers will be hoping to defend their crown when they take on Invincible Eleven in game one.
Monrovia Club Breweries will welcome Mighty Blue Angels in the day’s second match at the also at the ATS.
The LISCR Trust, Peace and Charity Cup is an annual event intended to keep players in shape ahead of the national league.
